An intensely haunting piece played to perfection. The bell-like piano chords that enter at 1:24 should remind everyone of the impact Pärt has had on the Hollywood film scoring industry. In particular, compare this section to the trademark Thomas Newman “American Beauty” chordal sequences (also heard in his score for “Shawshank Redemption”). Pärt was there first — this piece was written in 1977. Enjoy. It’s a masterpiece.

update: I finally got a copy of the score to this. The piano voicings kill me, they’re so sublime! Here’s an excerpt:
