The heat is torture: another day over 100F, another day of blinding sunlight. I continue to hide indoors with curtains drawn. Ceiling fans do their lopsided spin, the cats spread themselves long across the floor. Nothing gets finished, so many books unread. I took an eight hour nap yesterday, awoke at midnight and read David Sedaris and laughed until I had cramps. Then it was 2am and I tried sleeping again, except suddenly it seemed cool and dark and maybe I should move to Nova Scotia.
